Kitchen & Cabinetry Design Choices
Ah new cabinets! They are probably the favourite area of any new home owners and renovators. Even the most novice of cooks boiling the kettle to the French chef serving up dégustation for a table full of friends can all appreciate the crispness of a new kitchen.
These days kitchens are a space for more than just slaving away in a secluded room over a hot stove as most are now built in an open plan room that spills out to the dining and lounge areas. In recent years we are seeing more clever ideas like continuing the kitchen through to the adjacent veranda for entertaining and an outdoor BBQ kitchen with innovative alfresco cabinetry products. Laundries that are located next to kitchens are being converted in to butler’s pantry to hide the utilitarian aspects of a kitchen while still retaining the function of laundry which makes for a more flexible storage area that works harder in your busy life.

Kitchens have also become the new central area for the family. As everyone’s lives are going paperless it means some of our clever customers are wanting to swap out the home office room to a guest bedroom but at the same time adding in a study nook next to the kitchen so they can still keep an eye on the kids doing their homework, or use it as a technology station for that new Google Home device Santa gave them last Christmas.
While the dream home generating site, Pinterest, has an amazing array of sexy cabinetry styles, colour palettes, textures and layouts, sometimes it is hard to know exactly what is practical for you and where you need to get started. That’s where we love to help you turn your dreams into a reality as our work is custom made using products that are compliant to Australian Standards and what your exact needs are.
